Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel: Could This Be The Best Hotel In Tenerife?

Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel,  if you’re seeking a hotel where you can unwind, get pampered and devour great food, this hotel is for you. It’s the ideal hotel for a honeymooning couple, a break with friends or a family get together. If you wanted, you can even book your wedding around the luxurious pool and grounds (It was tempting).

If we could afford another honeymoon, we’d holiday at Roca Nivaria(again). Although we ended up in Bali for our Honeymoon, Roca Nivaria, the relaxing hotel in Playa Paraiso, is nevertheless one of my favourite places to holiday.

My Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel Review

The TripAdvisor reviews tell no lie’s, Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel has earnt its 5* rating. But is it the best hotel in Tenerife? I think so!

Roca Nivaria Location

Set in a tranquil location, with its own secluded beach The Roca Nivaria hotel is around 6 miles from the lively Costa Adeje resort. You can access this via a complimentary shuttle bus from the hotel or by hiring a taxi from the reception desk. The hotel is in a quiet location. This means, it needs to have every necessary resource, on hand, to keep guests entertained. The Roca Nivaria Hotel does just that.

We needed a peaceful break away from noise and loud parties. Had we have stayed in the usual Costa Adeje or Playa las Americanas, we’d have been inundated with parties and noise. It’s close enough to the bars for us,but, if you’re looking to be in the centre of it all, this hotel isn’t for you.

We took a trip via the shuttle bus into the town for a night out and paid a reasonable 20 euros in a taxi to get home.

Review of Roca Nivaria Rooms

The Roca Nivaria hotel has 311 stunningly decorated hotel suites.

From the €750pn presidential suite to the €146pn Standard double, every bedroom is filled with luxurious style and class.

We stayed in a Superior Sea View bedroom (number 428) which we booked through Booking.com

What a room.

our bedroom at the roca nivaria hotel

I don’t know what the official term is for the bed we had, but it was enormous and, oh, so snug. With comfort and relaxation a huge priority on holiday, the beds at Roca Nivaria hotel will not disappoint you.

Spotlessly clean and simply elegant, our superior sea view room had everything we desired and more. If you have bags full of holiday clothes, you’ll love the sex and the city style, walk-in wardrobe.

and

  • two sun terraces

Even the 35m2 standard double bedrooms feature a detached bath and shower, 2 sinks and plenty of added extras.

I really loved our contemporary, chic and minimalist sea view bedroom. We had a great view of the grounds, pool and sea, plus, it had a considerable terrace to lounge on in the sun. There was a good deal of space and the bed was unbelievable.

Review of The Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel Pools and Beach

The highlight of any sunny, seaside holiday is lazing away alongside the shore or, just as important, the swimming pool.  With Roca Nivaria hotel, you can choose between them both.

The Pools at Roca Nivaria Hotel

This hotel has 2 stunning infinity pools that both overlook the rugged volcanic coastline. The top-tiered pool is a calm, heated salt water pool, which makes it easier to float around in calm serenity.

The pool on the lower level is an unheated, more child-friendly, infinity pool. Still relaxing, but sometimes you’ll find the animation teams roping people in to play water polo.

Both pools are surrounded by palm trees, have plenty of sun loungers and even luxurious cabanas (at a cost) for unwinding. If you enjoy sipping cocktails with your Kindle in hand, then the poolside at The Roca Nivaria Hotel is the place for you.

The Beach at Roca Nivaria Hotel

If you’re more of a beach bum than a pool plodder, then you’ll prefer the easy to access private beach. Although small, sun loungers fill this sandy, man-made private beach and it even, has its own lifeguard.

The pools are wonderful and on their own, they’d score 10. I dropped two points because although the beach was convenient; it was rather lacklustre.

The Gym and Spa at Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel

If your holiday routine involves relaxing, whilst keeping fit. Then you’ll really enjoy the gym and spa facilities at Roca Nivaria.

The Gym

As well as a fully functional indoor fitness suite, Roca Nivaria boasts an outdoor fitness area filled with bikes, cross-trainers and other cardio equipment.

The equipment is under a roof so you can keep fit, without getting scorched. Thanks to the shape of said roof, there’s a cool breeze too.

In the indoor fitness suite, you’ll find treadmills, squat racks and a plethora of free-weights. And what’s great, is that it’s all-inclusive of your room rate.

The Spa

R&R at its best. The spa at Roca Nivaria Hotel is one of the finest spas I’ve ever been too. It includes:

  • Relaxing stone foot baths
  • Essential oil showers
  • Warm bathing pools
  • Ice-cold plunge pools
  • Saunas
  • Jacuzzi’s
  • Steam rooms
  • And
  • My favourite – a magnesium salt flotation pool

The spa was incredible, and the gym had everything we required. I love empty gyms, where I get to do what I want, when I want, on my own. I only saw around 2 other guests using the gym throughout our whole holiday.

Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel & Its Food

If you’re booking an all-inclusive hotel or even half board, food is one of the most important features to find out about. Nobody needs a boring beige buffet. Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel has many sections throughout the hotel for refreshments.

The first is The Garoé restaurant, the buffet section. Here’s where you’ll discover the indulgent, yet healthy breakfasts. Sit indoors, or head outside and have your breakfast alongside the glittering sea view.

For lunch, you can head to the poolside and dine alfresco or sit inside an idyllic man-made cave. For dinner, there are 2 a la carte restaurants offering Spanish and Italian cuisines, or you can head back to the buffet, where you’ll find a blend of classic and exotic meals.

We didn’t visit the 2 restaurants, but we were more than satisfied with the buffet food provided. There was a vast variety of fresh, colourful fruits, vegetables and freshly cooked, tasty meats and fish.

I’ve never been to such a colourful, vibrant international buffet. The food at Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel was not only healthy but tasty too.

With so much variety, we never went hungry. Service from the staff was great too.

Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel & Its Nightlife and Bars

Roca Nivaria has 2 indoor bars. There’s one in the lobby and the piano bar just underneath. Both bars have stunning outside terraces, and views of both the sea and the exquisite pools.

The piano bar is where the hotel holds their evening entertainment. Here you’ll find entertainment like the Amazing Mongolia acrobatics show or the Michael Jackson impersonator. This bar does become extremely warm, so dress accordingly. Drinks prices are fair and there’s a large choice of wines, spirits and beers to choose.

Brie-anne’s Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel Review Score: 7

I felt the hotel could do more with its nightlife. I felt uninspired and there was a lack of atmosphere. Maybe moving the entertainment outdoors and leaving the bars as more calm, snacking and drinking zones would be better?
